Jay Lavis Memorial Scholarship
The GBGSA has established a $1000 scholarship to be awarded to students enrolled in degree or diploma courses studying Turfgrass Management. Students who have a career goal of being employed in the golfing industry are eligible to apply.

Selection:
Selection for diploma and degree students will be based on academic accomplishments, standings and the content of the application indicating the applicant’s interest in turfgrass management.
Deadline for Applications:
Diploma and degree applications must be received by September 1, 2010.
To Qualify:
- The applicant must be attending a recognized university or college in a turfgrass study program.
- The applicant must have completed their first year in the diploma or degree course.
- The applicant must submit their most recent scholastic transcript showing marks in percent form.
- The applicant must be employed by a golf course superintendent member of the GBGSA
- The applicant must list his/her most recent golf course superintendent employer and current academic advisor, both of whom may be contacted by the committee.
- The applicant must submit a current resume and an essay describing their past achievements and their future goals in the turfgrass industry.
